Wedding and Baby was set up in 2009 by Louise Graham. Louise runs the business from her studio at home as well as online via her website. In a very short space of time the business has expanded with more and more stockists keen to display Wedding and Baby accessories.

Specialising in vintage tiaras, headbands, combs and jewellery has seen Wedding and Baby featured in several magazines including Wedding Ideas, The Scottish Wedding Directory and BBC Reporting Scotland.

Although the Vintage accessories are a big hit with many brides, Wedding and Baby also offer a bespoke service where brides can have a design created to their exact requirements.

More recently Wedding and Baby had the pleasure of having their accessories used throughout a new bridal programme on Wedding TV called Bridal Boudoir.

To celebrate this once they reach a 1000 likes on facebook they will be giving away the famous Vintage Rose Comb as featured.

Your Wedding at Loch Lomond chatted with one of our suppliers Tantrums and Tiaras about their new collections,’Goodnight Sweetheart’ and ‘Indulgence’ ranges.

Kelly Scully, Designer and director said “I have really enjoyed creating these new ranges which add the finishing touch of designer class to the outfits of the bride and bridesmaids, without the need for the designer prices. They have been attracting huge attention from brides who have seen them at my studio before they were launched and we have ended up having to let them go early!”

‘Goodnight Sweetheart’ is a collection of vintage inspired 1920-40’s headpieces that are designed to give a very stylish and glamorous look to your special day. And… If that wasn’t enough the new ‘Indulgence’ range will set you apart.  Think sumptuous opulence all in one place and you’re there! This luxurious range will be continue to grow throughout 2011 so pop by regularly and see what’s new. We’ve got some great vintage pieces planned!

All of Tantrums and Tiaras ranges can be teamed with their beautiful collection of wedding jewellery and matched to other features of the wedding outfit such as detailing on dresses.

At Tantrums and Tiaras we are building on a very successful and award winning year. As well as being highly commended in the best bridal accessories category in the Wedding Ideas Magazine Awards we were also delighted to win the same category in ‘The Bridal Magazine’ awards. Tell us the history of Tiny-Gems

I have always loved crafting and have had a go at lots of different types of craft over the years. I used to make jewellery in the evenings as a form of stress relief and relaxation from a very busy job.

I was a senior manager in the banking industry and had been so for 14 years, I had recently been promoted, everything was fantastic when our whole department was put at risk of redundancy. The next 90 days was full of uncertainty and upset. I was offered a job if I wanted one however I had completely lost faith in the company and decided to take redundancy.

I eventually left at Christmas time 6 months after the bombshell had dropped and made the very scary decision after always being employed to begin a new career on a self employed basis and Tiny-Gems was born. I haven’t looked back once and love doing a job that I love doing.

What makes you different from your competitors?

At Tiny-Gems we don’t just offer one style, we have a great variety of products to not only suit all styles but also all ages too. Our youngest customer so far is 2 and our oldest is 91 so I think you can safely say we appeal to a broad range of ages.

I make lots of different items from fun and quirky scrabble rings and cufflinks to top quality Swarovski jewellery, tiaras and headbands, plus repaired and reworked vintage pieces.

What inspires you?

A lot of Tiny-Gems inspiration comes from Hollywood glamour. I love the seemingly effortless style of old Hollywood; it is just so timeless and classic. Audrey Hepburn is a true style icon even today.

I really love watching old black and white movies and it is great to see the old styles coming back into fashion, well maybe with the exception of some of the less than flattering styles from the eighties, neon colours really should have stayed where they were.

I am also inspired by my family and friends, I am so very lucky to have such amazing family and friends and I hope they know exactly how very much I love and respect them.

What is your signature style?

Tiny-Gems signature styles are vintage with a modern twist, and quirky designs that are fun and unusual.

What have been  your main achievements?

My main achievements so far are making bespoke tiaras for brides to wear on the most important day of their lives. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy that for many years to come they will be looking at their wedding pictures and my creation is a part of that. Every time I make a new design I get a massive sense of achievement and a glow of pride.

I am also incredible proud that I got to number one on the top 100 uk wedding tweeters list.

What would you do differently if you got married again?

If I had been asked last year what would you change about your wedding? I would have said nothing it was perfect. However, having mixed with so many talented wedding suppliers in the last year I now see things differently.

Luckily I wouldn’t change my groom, but I would have the courage to have a vintage theme to it which I wanted but was worried people would think I was a bit strange. Especially as vintage styling is now so popular. I would have a gold or cream antique lace dress and would have a vintage tea party as the reception. I would wear my own jewellery and a headband with a vintage style brooch that I would also make. Along with lots of cupcakes and retro sweeties

What does 2011 have in store for you?

2011 is the year when Tiny-Gems really takes off, we want to get some contacts in our area especially wedding dress shops to stock our products. We also want to grow our website and are hoping to add a lot more exciting features to it but I am currently keeping that very hush hush.

LHG Designs is our very own label of handmade wedding tiaras, vintage headbands, vintage combs, jewellery -necklace, bracelets and earrings.

In the 2011 collection our designs are not only trend focused, we also have unique fashion forward designs that are sure to create new trends

Ruffles, flowers and lots of fabric are HOT in wedding dresses for 2011, so what does the on trend bride do with her accessories?
The LHG Designs collection at http://www.weddingandbaby.co.uk/ have got that sorted. Look no further than your complete guide to accessorising your dress.

Traditional tiaras are starting to take a back seat with most discerning brides opting for headband and combs, that are adorned with rhinestones, feathers and flowers.

Birdcage veils were extremely popular in 2010, however for 2011 the trend is moving away from these as dresses become embelished with fabric flowers and ruffles.

LHG Designs have been creating accessories for the last two years that are not only sought after by celebrities, but also provide value for money and longevity. Louise regularly speaks with brides and develops designs that can be used long after the wedding or special occassion.

For the bride that wants to create the veil effect without the added fabric, our Marquise Veil Comb is the Show Stopper in our 2011 collection.

Amazing diamante claw set rhinestone comb creates this striking piece. Beautiful vintage style floral focal design mounted onto a silver silver comb. Birdcage veils take on a whole new dimension with our unique rhinestone side veil design. What makes this ultra special is that it can be converted into a brooch and worn again!

Floral wedding dresses need to remain with the theme, without adding more fabric to the design. So the best option is rhinestone embelished floral combs and headbands.

If you have opted for the simple dress but want to incorporate the floral theme, why not add fabric flowers to the hair. These can be flat on the head as in our Floral lace design below.

In our 2011 range also comes a romanesque headband /circlet. Stunning for a Grecian style wedding. Silver beadwork creates leaves and branches for this earthy deisgn.

If you are looking to include vintage and floral theme then look no further than our new range a shown below – that will be hitting the website very soon

Pretty girl looking lovely………….gorgeous girl looking stunning. The difference? The detail.

Get it right and it is amazing. It really is worth the time and effort to get the right advice and be sure you make an informed choice, knowing that your choices are perfect for you.

Sixteen years ago I designed and made my first tiara and veil. I took into account the style of the brides gown (essential) her hairstyle, shape of face and her likes and dislikes. She loved the result and the rest as they say is history. The collection now includes jewellery, capes, every type and style of hair accessory imaginable including our petite hat range, and original designs by baba-c.

Our passion to provide every client with expert advice, unrivalled choice, unique and inspirational designs has only increased over time. If you are looking for traditional elegance, silver screen glamour, simply stylish or anything else, you are sure to find it at Baba-C Designs.

The style of your gown to a large extent will influence your choice of hair accessory. As all our designs are bespoke you can make any changes necessary to perfect your design.

Bridal jewellery is usually different from fashion pieces. As you will be wearing a fabulous gown and your hair will be dressed your jewellery should reflect this. A more discreet look works well for most designs and a bare neck can look extremely elegant. It is all about balance and all your chosen pieces should blend and work with each other.

Pearls are always popular due to their timeless quality, but there are many other options available from traditional to modern and much more. The more quirky and fashion led gowns can take some real statement pieces of jewelery and head wear. Again, style of gown is the central theme for your accessories.

We have a fabulous new collection launching soon. Inspired by vintage but with a modern twist sure to appeal to today’s fashion conscious brides. Have a look at http://www.baba-c.co.uk to see the current collections and for details of new listings.

The memories of your wedding will last forever, make sure they are all happy ones!
