Your wedding is probably the most important day in your life. You want everything to be perfect. That is why finding the perfect venue is the most significant aspect to planning your wedding. It is an exciting part of wedding planning, but choosing a great venue is also one of the things that take a considerable amount of time. You need to consider many things before deciding on which location to choose. First, you need to locate the wedding venues available in your area, you need to check if it is available on your wedding date and you need to visit the venue. Before choosing a venue you need to consider the following:

1.) What kind of ceremony you will be having. You need to decide where you want to get married. If you are planning to have a church wedding you need to find a venue within a reasonable distance from the church where you plan to get married. If you are planning on having the ceremony at the venue where your reception will be then you will have to meet with the wedding co-ordinator to discuss your arrangements.

2.) The number of guests you plan on inviting. This is important because you need to choose a location that can comfortably hold all your guests. You need to check the venue’s maximum dining capacity. You want your guests to be able to enjoy themselves and sit comfortably during the ceremony and the reception.

3.) You need to consider the location. If it is an out of town wedding or in a remote location where your guests will be travelling from different parts of the country, you need to make certain arrangements to make sure they do not get lost.

4.) Check if the venue has a wedding co-ordinator. This can make your wedding planning easier. They may be able to recommend good suppliers and they are the ones who know what works best with the venue’s layout.

5.) You also need to check if the venue has an in-house caterer or if you need to hire caterers. You need to be able to find a caterer that is familiar with the site. You also need to check with the management if there are added to costs for the catering tents or equipment.

6.) Check the venues amenities like parking, toilets, access and even their staff. Check if there is parking at the location since you need to inform your guests if the parking happens to be restricted so they will know in advance if they need a taxi etc. If parking is restricted it is advisable that you should provide transport for your guests.

7.) Lastly, make sure you ask what you can and cannot do at the wedding venue. There may be activities that they do not allow or that they charge extra for. You do not want to be stuck paying for a very expensive bill that you would have otherwise avoided had you asked the necessary questions.

Research – check which suppliers will be exhibiting at the show, then have a look at their website to see what kind of products and services they can offer in advance. Most good shows will have a website with exhibitor details. Find our wedding show website at www.thelochlomondweddingshow.co.uk

Discounts – Many exhibitors offer a discount if you book at a show so take advantage and save a few pounds where you can.

Ask questions – If you don’t see a style that matches your vision, then ask the exhibitioner. Many simply can’t bring all of their samples to the show.

Take someone with you – so that you can get second opinions.

Be patient – if a particular stand is very busy but you know that you are keen to talk with them why not go for a coffee and come back when things are a little calmer. The venue for the Loch Lomond Wedding Show has a lovely restaurant overlooking Loch Lomond. Have a nice lunch or dinner, or simply a cup of tea, whilst admiring the view.

Arrange appointments – if you want a longer chat with an exhibitor, as them if you can make an appointment to see them in a quieter, less busy environment where you will have their full attention.

Be open to new ideas – you may see products or services that you had not even considered.

Wear Comfy Shoes – you could be doing a lot of walking and standing!

Bring money! – You may get a discount if you book on the day and may be required to pay a deposit.
